Hi Honey~It's mommy here, writing this little note to you.
It is 6:19 a.m. and you are sleeping, so peacefully, in your bed. This is actually "sleeping in" for you. Usually you are awake to see daddy head out the door to work. I am glad you are getting some rest because you have a BIG day ahead of you tomorrow. :)
It is so hard for Mommy and Daddy to believe that you will turn 2 years old tomorrow. Has it really been 2 years??? Where did the time go?
Two years ago you were born, on Halloween night, at 7:43 p.m. The doctor's that delivered you had plastic eyeballs stuck to their name badges and the nurse had a bird's nest on her head. The doctors gave me some eyeballs too and we have them in your room. I was wearing purple slipper-socks with spider webs on the toes.
I was worried because you were 14 weeks early. There were so many emotions and unknowns that day. There were lots of prayers and tears but I want you to know that there was equal amounts laughter and smiles. We knew this was all part of God's plan and trusted in him.
You were the tiniest person I have ever seen, weighing in at 1 pound 12 ounces. You were so fragile that I was not able to hold you until 7 days after you were born. I did get to touch you though. I will never forget the first time I placed my hand on the top of your fuzzy, tiny head. It was amazing. YOU are amazing.
Do you know that you are the bravest person I know?
I always felt in my heart that you would be the rambunctious, active little boy that you are today. I thank God for that peace in my heart that he gave me from the very beginning.
Here is a list of things you are up to these days:
*You zoom around the house pushing anything with wheels and even things that don't have wheels.
*You like to stand on your leapfrog table and dive over the side of the couch. You do this over, and over, and over again throughout the day.
*One of your favorite things to do is chase the dog and the cat.
*You absolutely LOVE to eat mac-n-cheese, green beans, peas, and chicken nuggets.
*You give the best kisses.
*You dance with me everyday and we love to rock out in the living room.
*If something has a button you will push it ALL. DAY. LONG.
*There is a light over your bed that shines planets, moons, and stars in your room. You like it when I spin it around.
*You say Da Da, HI, and Yeah.
*You are very funny.
*You love your bath.
*You are really smart.
*You love music and there are certain songs that will bring you to tears.
*You really like it when your grandpa's & grandma's call you on the phone.
*You are independent.
*You are good at sharing.
*You're favorite book makes animal sounds.
*You (we) are learning sign language.
*You like to lay on the floor at my feet when I am in the kitchen or the bathroom.
*When you want to sit on my lap you pat my leg twice.
*You watch out the window for your Daddy to come home in the evenings.
*You like to sit on your grandma's feet.
* You are a sweet boy.
Today is the last day that you will be 1. It has been a great year honey and I am sure that this year will hold lots of new adventures for you!
Mommy and Daddy are so thankful that God loves us so much that He chose us to be your parents. You have been and continue to be the greatest blessing of our lives. We look at you and see God's love shining through your smile and those gorgeous blue eyes.
