* Christian had an eye appointment at OHSU last Friday so we packed up Thursday morning and ventured off to stay a few days with Shela, Dave and the Kids in Vancouver. The trip was most pleasant. Christian was an extra-good boy, despite being strapped in his car seat for 3 hours. It felt good to get on the road and just listen to my music and enjoy the scenery.
* The appointment was a follow-up to see how Christian's eyes were developing. The doctor was very pleased (me too) to see that Christian's eyes looked fantastic. He said that you would not be able to tell that Christian was a preemie by looking at his eyes. He will go back once a year until he is 3 for annual check-ups.
* We were able to stop by the DNCC and visit with Christian's nurse, Cynthia. He gave her a gift and some heart shaped suckers (but not before bopping me in the face a few times with them). It is always a special occasion when we get to see her. She was with us from the very first day til the day we went home. She means a lot to our family.
*Christian enjoyed time with his cousins and played, played, played. He discovered chicken nuggets and guacamole. We went to a soccer game where he cheered for his uncle Dave and aunt Shela.
* He also received a "proper" haircut by his aunt Shela. He was not liking the clippers at all.
* We came home on Monday and waited for Jason to get home. 5 days is a long time without seeing daddy!
* Christian is still just under 17 pounds. Such a big boy now! He practically runs behind his lion walker. Won't be long til he is bouncing off our walls.
* I have been doing my best to get organized. I started with my kitchen cabinets. I have organized my coffee cup cabinet so far. Yes, I am moving slowly. I did purchase new dishes that I love so I boxed up all my hodge-podge, miss-matched stuff to get rid of.
*Went to a really cool store in Portland called Home Goods. It is over by IKEA. I bought an awesome art piece for my house there. I will post a pic when I hang it up.
* I was introduced to Stumptown Coffee in Portland where it was rumored to have the best coffee. I have to admit, IT IS AWESOME! So good that we are only drinking Stumptown coffee on Sundays so that Jason and I can enjoy it together. It is Kirkland coffee during the rest of the week.
*We are learning sign language in the Lee house. So far we are working on: more, food, milk, water, ball, kitty, want, puppy, mama, daddy, grandpa, grandma, bird, sleepy, and all done. :) Christian is really grasping the sign for more. We have been working on that one for quite awhile.
* Jason is still working in Arlington on the windmills. He has Sundays off. This Sunday we are going to Kennewick to watch "My Bloody Valentine" in 3D with his parents. Looks scary! I love it!
That's all folks!
